Peak Potentials Ultimate Leadership Camp

Peak Potentials Has Created a Leadership Camp to Hone Millionaire Minds

Peak Potentials Training has just announced the Ultimate Leadership Camp. It focuses on building peoples’ abilities to run a team, make pinch decisions, plan strategies, and many other key leadership skills. This camp very much focused on skills that are particularly useful in business and leadership.

This wilderness event will place attendees in high-pressure situations where they will learn, utilize, and then perfect leadership tactics and strategies. By moving participants out of the boardroom, office or conference center and into an outdoor setting, they are given the opportunity to look at situations from a new perspective and are open to learning with this different frame of mind. Then, when they need to implement those same tactics and strategies back in the workplace, it will come as second nature to use them wisely.

Over five challenging days at Ultimate Leadership Camp, guests will vastly improve their abilities to:

  • Make correct “big-picture” decisions under pressure
  • Create strategic planning processes
  • Implement problem-solving systems
  • Delegate fairly and effectively
  • Deal with difficult people successfully act accordingly when leadership is ineffective
  • Give and receive constructive feedback
  • Complete jobs on time and on budget, and remain well-liked

There are two Camps coming up on Sept 28th in California, and September 14th in NYC, plus there’s an added value deal going on right now as well. For a very limited time, participant will receive the five-day camp, full meals, accommodations and six, 30-minute coaching sessions for only $3,595.

The Six-30 minute coaching sessions help ensure you successfully implement everything you learned at camp. They’re a huge benefit, and not typically offered with this course.

If you’d like to hear a bit more about camp details and dates, click here. Or give me a shout if you have any questions.

If you’re ready to register now, call 1-888-868-8883 and when you’re registering be sure to give them my reference number 510814 to make sure you get this special deal.

I really hope you can make it to one of the camps. Who knows, maybe we’ll end up in the same one.

Prosperity For All 2008

What happens when highly diverse people find common ground?

“Children’s lives get better,” says Sharad Sapra, Director, UNICEF/Operations Lifeline Sudan

Most of you know Millionaire Mind Intensive Grad, Michael Skye as the founder and director of the VisionForce Boot Camp — an experiential training for visionaries, entrepreneurs, artists and leaders. VisonForce offers an intensive, integrative learning experience, which includes running, yoga, breathing exercises, silent reflection, one-on-one coaching, logical diagrams to facilitate new paradigm shifts and thinking processes, individual work with the course leader in front of the room, and hands-on practice and demonstrations in the use of VisionForce’s iStand Dynamics.

Michael has been inspired to ‘Standing Up’ to a global challenge — he with the aid and support of other Millionaire Mind Intensive graduate, Shawn Madden and Jennifer Foster are sponsoring the ‘Prosperity For All 2008 event — 50 Visionary Entrepreneurs and Leaders To Take A Stand And Form Alliances For Global Prosperity.

On June 10-15, 2008 fifty visionary entrepreneurs and leaders will unite in Austin, TX, answering a call from Future Search facilitator, Nancy Polend, to “face everything and avoid nothing to stand for prosperity for all in our lifetime.” Polend has teamed up with VisionForce, a leadership training company, to convene a special alliance-building week-long event, called Prosperity For All 2008, that aims to prepare and mobilize visionaries to stand powerfully for prosperity for all in our lifetime.

Ms. Polend, Program Director of Prosperous Communities, Prosperous Nation at the Future Search Network, envisioned Prosperity For All 2008 after attending a VisionForce training called the iStand Experience in March. While there, her vision for engaging humanity in the creation of a new abundant world, which is backed up by the proven Future Search methodology, its global network, and a practical strategy, inspired the VisionForce team to stand with her by holding their next iStand Experience exclusively for those willing to stand with her for prosperity for all.

Offering practical tools for reaching their highest personal potential, the iStand experience immerses visionary leaders in experiences that clarify their vision, resolve inner conflicts, create powerful relationships, and find inner strength necessary for walking the visionary leadership path. The dedicated alliance-building sessions provide opportunities to discover connections, find needed resources, and create collaborative partnerships among visionary entrepreneurs and leaders creating prosperity for all.

“Empowering new paradigm leaders is more critical than ever,” says Michael Skye, VisionForce founder. “As the economic picture darkens, existing structures fail to solve our most complex global challenges, and traditional leadership models fall short, we need a fundamentally new way of working—within ourselves, our organizations, and our communities—if we are to create a world that is abundant for everyone.” That, he says, is what this event is all about.

“The iStand experience gave me access to a critical missing piece I needed to fully step into my power as a visionary leader,” Nancy claims, “and the alliances I needed to bring my vision into reality.” So moved by her experience and by VisionForce’s support, Nancy is playing a key role in making this event just as powerful for others. “The possibilities for inspired collaborative action from a room filled with visionary leaders, all focused on the same goal, are tremendous. I wouldn’t miss this opportunity to stand for others, share what I have with them, and make connections that can quite literally change the world.”

To learn more about this event, please visit http://www.prosperityforall2008.com or call 1-877-844-6667.

The Prosperity For All 2008 APPLICATION PROCESS IS NOW OPEN

Leaders, by their nature are self selecting.

If you feel inspired to take an active role in this event give Micheal a call and offer your support.

Express Yourself!

Wealth File #8

Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their value.
Poor people people think negatively about selling and promotion.

“…Rich people are almost always excellent promoters. They can and are willing to promote their products, their services, and their ideas with passion and enthusiasm.”

— T. Harv Eker
Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, pg. 10

During the January Cash Flow game-day wrap-up, Loraine Boyden shared some Millionaire Mind insights about the importance of business coaches and mentors. She stated that her first business mentor stressed consistent, outstanding communication skills as the basis of any successful business enterprise. Their coach encouraged Loraine and John join a local Toastmasters organization to hone their public speaking skills. Both Loraine and John credited their Toastmaster’s experience with increasing their confidence and improving their speaking and promotional skills and recommended the experience to other Millionaire Mind Intensive graduates.

What is the Toastmasters Experience?

Toastmasters’ members learn by speaking to groups and working with others in a supportive environment. Toastmasters have helped men and women improve their communication and leadership skills. Through regular meetings and speaking opportunities at member clubs, people achieve their full potential, realize their dreams, and improve their communication skills.

Most people say they joined Toastmasters because they want to feel more secure when speaking in public - even before a small group. For example, in a departmental meeting, an employee may have real knowledge about the job, but lack the ability to communicate his or her ideas to other members of the group. The Toastmasters program can be tailored to meet your personal objectives. Whether you desire improvement in prepared or impromptu speaking, greater skill in the use of visual aids, experience and knowledge can be gained in the areas that most interest you.

Through participation in the Toastmasters Communication and Leadership program, people from all backgrounds can lose their fear of public speaking, learn to speak effectively, conduct a meeting, manage a department or business, lead, delegate, and motivate.

Experienced professionals and beginning speakers alike can benefit from the Toastmasters’ programs. Whether speaking to the board of directors, your customers, your co-workers or your kids, Toastmasters can help you do it better. You’ll learn and practice in a friendly, comfortable environment with people who are there for the same reason you are—to become better communicators.

Finding a local Toastmaster’s Club

Look for a club near you.

Some Toastmaster clubs meet in the morning, some during lunch, others at night. Find the one that best suits your schedule and then contact them.

The Six Steps to Mastering Change

Every Master was once a Disaster!

It is important to realize that although you can use techniques to smooth the change transition process, you will never be able to completely jump from one way of doing something to another without experiencing at least some resistance.

Why is this? Its just part of human nature, people adjust to change at different rates.

To reduce your frustration with this process, it helps to know the six phases people go through whenever they are experiencing any type of change, be it personal or professional.

Anticipation

People in Phase 1 are in the waiting stage. They really don’t know what to expect, so they wait, anticipating what the future holds.

Confrontation

At some point, people reach Phase 2 and begin to confront reality. At this stage, they are beginning to realize that the change is really going to happen or is happening.

Realization

Once the change has happened, people will usually reach Phase 3, where they realize that nothing is ever going to be as it once was. Often times, this realization will plunge them into Phase 4.

Depression

Phase 4 is a necessary step in the change process. This is the stage where a person mourns the past. Not only have they realized the change intellectually…now they are beginning to comprehend it emotionally as well.

Acceptance

Phase 5 marks the point where the person begins to accept the change emotionally. Although they may still have reservations, they are not fighting the change at this stage. Usually, they are beginning to see some of the benefits even if they are not completely convinced.

Enlightenment

In Phase 6, people completely accept the new change. In fact, many wonder how they ever managed the “old” way. Overall, they feel good about the change and accept it as the status quo from here forward.

It is important to note that people in your organizations will proceed through the different phases at different rates of speed. One person may require two months to reach Phase 6 while another may require twelve. To make things even more complex, the cycle of change is not linear. In other words, a person does not necessarily complete Phase 1 through 6 in order. It is much more common for people to jump around. One person may go from Phase 4 to Phase 5 and then back to Phase 2 again; that is why there is no easy way to determine how long a change will take to implement. However, by using the skills outlined above, you increase your chances of managing the change as effectively as possible.

Managing Change

It Starts With You

Change is an ongoing occurrence in business. During the past decade, the “Champ-to-Chump” product cycle has compressed from years to months. Successfully guiding your business enterprise to long-term profitability, requires strong change management skills…specific expertise including leadership development (to get people to believe in you); marketing and sales abilities (to promote your case for change); and communication skills (to help build support for the decision to change). It will also help if you know a little about the stages people go through psychologically when they are dealing with change so that you are able to tell if you have managed a successful transition or if there are additional problems that you need to address.

Leaders lead

The first thing you will want to focus on is your leadership ability. Companies continue to make the mistake of focusing too much on business processes and not enough on good, strong examples of leadership.

Set an example

As the top person in your business, others look to you for direction not only in terms of business needs, but also related to behavior, ethics, and standards. If you want others in your business to change, you must set an example for them to follow.

Eliminate perks

Perks suggest division and hierarchical thought processes. By eliminating or reducing your own perks, you show your desire to level the playing field.

Walk around and talk to people

The old school of business management promoted the idea that the top person was off limits, enclosed in his or her own glass tower. Leaders of today interact more with their employees; they manage by walking around and getting to know their employees and learning about the problems they face on a day-to-day basis.

Be genuine

As a leader of change, it is important to be as real and honest as possible in your interactions with others. Let others get to know you. Being a leader doesn’t mean hiding your emotions. By interacting with employees on a one-on-one basis, you will build rapport and trust.

Have passion

To be a strong leader, you must have passion around your vision. Without it, you will soon find yourself facing burnout. Leadership is tiring and saps energy at a very high rate, so make sure you are passionate about what you do.

Building your ability as a leader is the first step in the change management process. Any ‘change campaign’ should target the different special interests within your business and outline the reasons why change is necessary for each. For instance, you board of directors, or your business advisors will want to know what the long-term effects of the change will be. Similarly, your employees will want to know how they will be personally effected by the changes you are proposing.

Once a change has been instituted, it is very important to communicate on a regular basis with all who are affected. Let your employees know what is happening. If your communication skills are weak or you don’t have a formal way of communicating with your employees, set one up before you hit this stage of the change process. Many companies find that internal Blogs are an effective tool for keeping everyone informed, and can reduce the chances of low productivity and low morale that often accompany unaccepted change.

In the next Millionaire Mind Support Network™ Blog — The Six Steps to Mastering Change — will look at the six phases people go through whenever they are experiencing any type of change, be it personal or professional.

Practice Uncommon Appreciation

Practice Uncommon Appreciation

by Jack Canfield

If asked, could you name the five wealthiest people in the world, or five people who have one the Nobel Prize, or the last five Academy Award winners for best actor and actress? The point is, none of us remembers the headliners of yesterday. When the applause dies, the awards tarnish, and achievements are forgotten, no one cares about who won which award.

But if I asked you to list five teachers or mentors who believed in you and encouraged you, five friends who have helped you through a difficult time, five people who have taught you something worthwhile, or five people who have made you feel appreciated and special - that’s much easier to do, isn’t it?

That’s because the people who make a difference in your life aren’t the ones with the most credentials, the most money, or the most awards. They’re the ones who care. If you want to be remembered for being important to someone else’s life, make them feel appreciated.

Appreciation as a Secret of Success

Another important reason for being in a state of appreciation as often as possible is that when you are in such a state, you are in one of the highest emotional states possible.

When you are in a state of appreciation and gratitude, you are in a state of abundance. You are appreciating what you do in stead of focusing on, and complaining about, what you don’t have. Your focus is on what you have received… and you always get more of what you focus on. And because the law of attraction states that like attracts like, the more you are in a state of gratitude, the more you will attract to be grateful for. It becomes an upward-spiraling process of ever-increasing abundance that just keeps getting better and better.

Think about it. The more grateful people are for the gifts we give them, the more inclined we are to give them more gifts. Their gratitude and appreciation reinforces our giving. The same principle holds true on a universal and spiritual level as it does on an interpersonal level.

Keeping Score

When I first learned about the power of appreciation, it made total sense to me. However, it was still something that I forgot to do. I hadn’t yet turned it into a habit. A valuable technique that I employed to help me lock in this new habit was to carry a 3″ x 5″ card in my pocket all day, and every time I acknowledged and appreciated someone, I would place a check mark on the card. I would not allow myself to go to bed until I had appreciated 10 people. If it was late in the evening and I didn’t have 10 check marks, I would appreciate my wife and children, I would send an e-mail to several staff, or I would write a letter to my mother or stepfather.

I did whatever it took until it became an unconscious habit.

I challenge you to discover ways to immediately appreciate someone in your life, starting today!

For more on this topic, read Chapter 53 in The Success Principles. It will give you great suggestions and ideas on how you, too, can find ways to appreciate those in your life.

Wild Wild Net — Part Five — So My Two Guru’s Are…

I Model Rich and Successful People

If they can do it, I can do it!”

I Choose To Model Joe and Jack

Since the Millionaire Mind Intensive weekend, I have looked for successful Internet entrepreneurs to model. The movie, “The Secret”, made choosing a rich and successful Internet entrepreneur easy. I just signed up to be on every one of “The Secret’s” teacher’s mailing lists.

As you might expect, each of “The Secret” teachers have an authentic message. I seem to resonate with the message and marketing tone of Joe Vitale and Jack Canfield. I found that I looked forward to their emails, blog entries and special training offers. Their pitches, and this is about developing residual and passive income streams, so these messages are indeed pitches, intrigued me. Not just because I was studying their structure, but I felt that what they were offering would help me improve my business and myself. Of all “The Secret” teachers, they combined just the right amount of spiritual practice with real business savvy. Joe is a marketing maven. Jack is more a process and systems guy. Both have infused spirit into their every aspect of their work. Reading their stuff and listening to their audio programs I felt the energy, passion and joy, it is obvious. I found myself wishing to be like them and that, as I understand it, is the making of a real, live, Model.

I’m starting out my ‘modeling process’ by reading all of their books, haunting their websites, studying every email offer that they send me and I’ve studied their UTUBE videos.

I know that our own Prosperity Guy, Chris Sherrod, models Richard Branson.

Does anyone have any modeling processes they would like to share with the rest of our network? Who have you picked? How are you modeling that person?

Has anyone been using visualization or meditation in his or her modeling practice?

I’ll let you know how my modeling progresses.

Reaching the $5 Million Club Takes an Open Mind

The old saying is true: The rich are different.

Not only do their values and habits set them apart from the hoi polloi, they’re different from their wealthy predecessors of a generation ago. For those interested in joining their ranks, it helps to understand why.

To enter the nation’s top 1%, you need more than $5 million. And if you get there, you’ll have plenty of newly-arrived company: The number of U.S. “pentamillionaires” has quadrupled in the past 10 years, to more than 930,000. Indeed, 70% of the nation’s big family fortunes are less than 13 years old, according to research and marketing firm The Harrison Group. And the people who amassed them are, first and foremost, entrepreneurs — risk takers for whom wealth is a byproduct of pursuing their passion.

What got them to the highest level? It isn’t necessarily stock-market savvy: On average, folks who recently hit the $5 million mark report that only 10% of their money came through passive investments. And only 10% of pentamillionaires inherited their wealth. One might think that good fortune would play a role, but even luck is largely a matter of one’s own making. Psychologist Richard Wiseman has found that people who describe themselves as lucky share common habits that account for their success: They’re friendly and fond of new experiences, traits that put them on a collision course with new opportunities. In addition, “lucky” folks simply have higher expectations of success — they’re too pigheadedly optimistic to heed the long odds and call it quits.

Not to say that getting rich is simply a matter of having a swell attitude. The path to riches usually involves the kind of risk that would make most people feel a little queasy. Harrison Group head Jim Taylor recently persuaded more than 3,000 pentamillionaires to discuss their path to success. Perhaps not surprisingly, none of them had a cushy union job down at the DMV. The vast majority — 80% — either started their own business or worked for a small company that saw explosive growth. And almost all of them made their fortune in a big lump sum after many years of effort.

Surprisingly, today’s very rich say that money itself wasn’t much of a motivator. Once you’ve got food in your belly and a big-screen TV, the mere prospect of more Benjamins isn’t enough to get you leaping out of bed at 5 a.m. Rather, rich folks often make their fortunes after they make up their minds to solve a problem or do something better than it’s been done before. When Frank Darras graduated from law school, all he wanted in terms of material wealth was a middle-class life for his wife and kids. But while working as a doctor’s assistant to put himself through school, he developed a burning desire to help the folks he saw struggling with unpaid insurance claims. “It was the David and Goliath aspect that attracted me more than anything,” says the Ontario, Calif., attorney. Once he had his degree, Darras was like a cruise missile aimed at the insurance industry. By 1990 Darras had his first million-dollar year, and today he oversees one of the nation’s largest disability and long-term-care practices. “I never thought I’d make $5 million in two lifetimes,” he says. “I just loved the work.”

Getting rich also requires a certain amount of stubbornness and clarity of purpose. Consultant Joel Kurtzman, who evaluated 350 startups for his book Startups That Work, found that successful outlets usually have a team of two or three founders who share a common vision; the success rate for this model was a remarkable 50%. The odds for solo founders were more like the oft-quoted one in 10, in part because they often found themselves working at cross-purposes with hired guns who see things differently. That’s what 34-year-old Justin Jarvinen learned the hard way. The entrepreneur saw two promising business ventures go down the tubes after he took on partners who tweaked his ideas beyond recognition. But three years ago he started VerveLife, a service that helps companies promote online marketing efforts with free music downloads. Knowing that his success depended on his enthusiasm for bringing the idea to market, he carefully chose partners who supported his vision.

Jarvinen is now the majority shareholder in two dot-coms, and he claims an eight-figure net worth. But what really excites him is his freedom to explore and support new ideas; his current passion is mentoring younger entrepreneurs. “I’m interested in doing whatever I want, whenever I want,” he says. And chances are you feel similarly. When people dream of getting rich, it’s about more than nice clothes and fancy vacations. Being rich means freedom: to spend your time as you please, to pursue your real interests and to take a chance without courting utter ruin. Paradoxically, the road to riches often means acting as if you already have that freedom.
