The Only Thing We Have To Fear, Is Fear Itself

In Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, one of T. Harv Eker’s Wealth Principles states,

The only time you are actually growing, is when you are uncomfortable”

That being the case, this must be my day for expansive growth because I woke up and asked myself,
“What on earth are you trying to accomplish here! Are you nuts!”

When my partner and I drove home from the Millionaire Mind Intensive weekend we looked at every aspect of our life differently.

We knew we would have to restructure our graphic design firm’s “one-of” economic model. We wanted to find a way to keep that sense of community, that sense of connection we experienced with everyone at the Intensive. As web developers, the idea of doing a Millionaire Mind Support Network™ website for the Millionaire Mind Intensive participants as a way to stay in touch, seemed like a natural choice, and the idea of the member’s directory, as a way to support each other’s business was born. The directory and forum required a programming language and software programs we had never used before.

Should that stop us?

No way! With, “Every master was once a disaster.” still ringing in our ears, we forged ahead.

Are we out of our comfort zone? You bet!

Now, with almost two and a half months invested in the project without the 100% completion we want, are we feeling frustrated and fearful?

That would be a yes.

I woke up this morning thinking about the famous quote from Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1933 Inaugural Address.

“So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.”

Then I opened Secrets of the Millionaire Mind and read this:

Place your hand on your heart and say…

“I act in spite of fear.”
“I act in spite of doubt.”
“I act in spite of worry.”
“I act in spite of inconvenience.”
“I act in spite of discomfort.”
“I act when I am not in the mood.”

“Touch your head and say, “I have a millionaire mind!”

Then I went to my bookshelf for the really heavy artillery… the book T. Harv Eker’s recommends to the Millionaire Mind Intensive attendees…Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway, by Susan Jeffers. If any of the various guises of fear is sabotaging your Millionaire Mind MoJo, take some time with this book. It offers concrete techniques to turn passivity into assertiveness, and stop negative thinking patterns the say “I can’t and reeducate your mind to say, “I’ll handle it.”
This book gives you the tools to silence that “Chatterbox Critic” rattling around in your cranium.

After I reviewed a few chapters and took the millionaire minded actions needed, I excused myself from my very own private pity-party and was able to refocus on what I needed to do TODAY.

It has been a while since our Millionaire Mind Weekend.

The Secret of Your Inner Wealth

Holistic Wealth

One of the reasons I, and so many others resonate so completely with the teachings of T. Harv Eker, is the degree he stress the “Whole Person” approach to wealth.

He coaches his students to deal with time and talent as well as treasure — stressing that unless we are good stewards of these three aspects of our life, we will not fully enjoy true, lasting wealth.

In his writings, courses and workshops, Eker and his trainers stress the importance of moving beyond our personal comfort zones.

In his book, The Secrets of the Millionaire Mind, he says, “If you want to be rich and successful, you’d better get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Consciously practice going into your uncomfort zone and doing what scares you. Here’s an equation I want you to remember for the rest of your life: CZ=WZ.”

Comfort Zone equals your Wealth Zone

By expanding what you are comfortable being, doing, and having you are expanding you capacity to increase size of your income and wealth zone. In most cases our need to stay comfortable is motivated by the unconscious fear of the dreaded “What-ifs”. When we banish the “What-Ifs” we stretch ourselves to meet new people, and take advantage of new opportunities to build our Time, Talent and Treasure.

When we consciously expand our comfort zone we are “increasing the size of our personal wealth container” The universe always rushes in to fill that new space with the blessings we are ready and willing to receive.

In the Millionaire Mind 90-Day Wealth Conditioning Program , that we received as part of our Millionaire Mind Intensive, the daily exercises stress the importance of Appreciation and Gratitude. The exercises ask you to list ten people or things you are grateful for right now. These exercises are a wonderful way to acknowledge what you already have, and to remind you of the solid foundation you have on which to build a bigger comfort zone.

One way to work with your CZ=WZ equation is an empowering series of meditations that involve the contemplation of each of your talents — blessings, skills or accomplishments. At the feeling level — visualize and experience those talents as they expanded to a higher level. Let your creativity and imagination soar.

Take some time, every day, to build a more capable, more blessed you ,by recognizing and nurturing your inner wealth — your energy, health, focus, time, talents, beliefs, creativity, dreams, desires and your treasure.

The Benefits of Mastering CZ=WZ

True Financial Freedom

Freedom to do what I want, when I want, with whom I want
Freedom to experience all the possibilities

Beginning with the end in mind, the CZ=WZ exercises are a very effective way to exercise our millionaire minds.

Defining and Marketing Your Product — Part Three

Product Development

Why is it important to understand my product’s features and benefits?

Understanding product features and benefits allows you to:

• Describe your products in terms relevant to your customers.
• Differentiate – explain how your product is different than the competition’s.
• Effectively choose pricing and positioning strategies.

Differentiation

Products may be highly unique (specialty products), virtually indistinguishable from competitors’ products (commodity products), or in between these extremes. No level of uniqueness is necessarily better than any other, but they do require different marketing strategies.

A potentially important strategy for specialty products is differentiation, which sets them apart from the competitors’ products in the minds of customers. A thorough understanding of how your product’s benefits compare to your competitors’ allows you to compete effectively with them through differentiation.

• Commodity Products – Few, if any, perceived differences among competing products.
• Specialty Products – Highly unique features compared to other products competing for buyers’ dollars.

Strategies that are based upon features

Introducing - Identifying yourself as the first to offer a new product feature is a proven competitive strategy. For example, specifying a product as the first organic body lotion containing Vitamin E will position your company as a leader, at least for a while.

Improving/Modifying - Instead of being at the head of the pack with a totally new feature, you might modify or improve your product’s features, which creates the impression that your company cares about satisfying its customers. Modifying product features is a strategy many businesses use when a competitor has lowered prices. For example, if the maker of one organic body lotion lowers its price, the maker of another may add Vitamin E as a new and improved feature but keep its price the same. It is important to remember that modifying features usually leads to changes in benefits. Stay aware of the evolution of perceived benefits your product offers so you can use them in your marketing.

Grouping – Often, features are grouped into different product models — and prices — escalating from a basic model to a fully loaded model. Automobiles, electronic devices, and vacation packages each offer features that may be added to a basic product model. Services can also be grouped in this fashion. For example, an accountant might offer a certain fee for preparing annual tax returns, another fee to also process payroll, and another to manage all of a client’s financial affairs.

So how do Millionaire Minds identify, develop and market products and services. Share your insights. The folks that read this blog and visit the Millionaire Mind Support Network™ site are a great place to practice your market outreach. We want to hear from you.
